Fungi Tings - Toque F9

≋̱✺ Toque F9 — Conveyor Slow — fungi tings

A fungi tings field notes entry exploring conveyor belt thought processing, ADHD, OCD, joyful nervous system regulation, and slow-moving psilocybin experiences with minimal reintegration strain.

✺ ≋̱ fungi field notes

These field notes document an ongoing relationship with fungi through observation, embodiment, and lived experience.

This is not a guide to transcendence.

It is not a shortcut to healing.

It is not an argument for consumption.

The notes collected here explore strain relationships, dosage observations, nervous system responses, body communication, consciousness, integration, and the ways fungi interacts with memory, rhythm, and embodiment over time.

These observations are relational.

The body changes.

The relationship changes.

The field notes change with it.

What emerges here is not certainty.

It is conversation.

✺ ≋̱ for parents, caregivers, and young people

This page discusses fungi, consciousness, embodiment, and plant relationship through the lens of personal field notes and lived experience.

The content collected here is intended for adults.

Children and young people deserve age-appropriate conversations about body literacy, emotional regulation, nervous systems, mental health, nature, and plant relationships.

Those conversations do not require fungi.

The purpose of this page is not to encourage consumption.

It is to document relationship, observation, and ongoing inquiry.

Parents, caregivers, and guardians are encouraged to use their own discernment regarding what is appropriate for the young people in their care.

conveyor slow. for the first time in a long time the belts lined up instead of crashing into each other. the noise softened. the body stopped trying to outrun itself.

Opening Reflection

Some fungi experiences feel like rupture.

Others feel like return.

And every now and then a strain appears that does not try to overwhelm the body at all.

It simply slows the signal enough for connection to become visible.

This was one of those strains.

Not heavy.

Not fragmented.

Not spectacular for the sake of spectacle.

Just: slow movement open conversation and a nervous system finally able to stay present long enough to enjoy itself.

Close-up photograph of dense clustered Toque F9 mushrooms with curled caps and earthy cream, brown, and gold tones isolated against a pale background.
less spectacle. more signal.a strain that moved like syrup instead of static.

Timeline: taken around 10am full effects around 12:19pm

Experience Arc

Claymation fungi figure dancing with raised arms as mushrooms bloom across the body in green and violet tones, symbolizing joy, emotional regulation, and restored nervous system movement.
joy arrived quietly this time.not as escape. not as performance. just enough room inside the body to move without resistance.

Lovely slow motion.

I have not felt this particular kind of slowdown since African Pyramid.

Everything felt dipped in Molasses.

Expanded.

Hyper slow motion.

Not stuck.

Not sedated.

Just: stretched gently enough for the nervous system to finally stop rushing itself.

The colors were beautiful too.

Light hyper pastels.

Soft saturation.

Nothing overwhelming.

The strain stayed visually gentle while emotionally and conversationally expansive.

Sensory Read

Barely felt the onset.

The first thing I noticed was that I suddenly wanted to talk.

Not performative talking.

Not anxious overexplaining.

the room stretched into liquid rhythm. colors breathed. movement slowed until even silence had texture.

Just genuine curiosity.

Questioning.

Animation.

Playfulness.

It pushed me heavily into what I’ve started calling my comic self.

Expressive.

Observational.

Open.

There was also some very light itching once settled into the body, but minimal enough to barely register.

Connection Read

This strain was really about connection.

And honestly those are often the strains that help my ADHD the most.

Not because they force focus.

But because they reduce the compulsive fragmentation underneath attention.

My spouse and I ended up having one of the clearest conversations we’ve ever had about our different neurodivergent processing systems.

And there was a level of mutual understanding between us that honestly has never fully existed before.

Everything felt conveyor belt smooth.

And what I realized during that conversation is that our nervous systems move information very differently.

Claymation melanated figure standing upright with fungi roots growing from the feet, rendered in red and green chromatic distortion to symbolize grounded neurodivergent embodiment and nervous system connection.
my nervous system usually feels like ten conveyor belts running at once. this one let me choose which ones stayed on.

My partner described their processing like a conveyor belt moving too slowly while information keeps piling up behind it.

A backlog.

Too much waiting to move through at once.

Whereas my processing feels like multiple conveyor belts moving at extremely high speeds simultaneously.

Some of them are useful.

Some of them are completely outside of my control.

And many of them run on a kind of broken autopilot that drags me along with them even when I actively want them to stop.

That is what OCD and hyperactive neurodivergent processing often feels like in my body.

Not one thought.

Too many systems moving at once.

What this strain did differently was allow me to finally slow the belts down enough to choose.

I could shut some of them off entirely.

Adjust the speeds.

Select which lines of thought I actually wanted to stay engaged with.

And for once the process felt fully under my control instead of the other way around.

That clarity was honestly kind of mind blowing.

Not because it felt transcendent.

But because it felt understandable.

Neurodivergent Read

This one made me hyper talkative.

But importantly: not dysregulated.

Pink and violet brain sculpture resting on rounded fungal forms beneath layered spiral grids, symbolizing neurodivergence, sensory processing, ADHD/OCD cognition, and expanded perception through intentional fungi relationship.
the neurodivergent mind is not broken machinery. it is an overloaded system forced to survive inside speeds and structures it was never designed for.

I could still:

  • sit still

  • stay engaged

  • enjoy conversation

  • remain connected to what we were watching

without compulsively redirecting into OCD loops or fragmentation.

That distinction matters.

Because a lot of strains can increase verbal energy while simultaneously destabilizing the nervous system.

This one did not.

The body stayed calm while the mind stayed open.

Body + Integration Read

the body bounced softly back into itself. no rupture. no overwhelm. just gentle recalibration.

No real comedown.

No confusion.

No heavy reintegration process afterward.

Just: creative flow positive mood soft continuation

And honestly I think this is also connected to the larger regulation work I’ve been doing outside of fungi.

Moving my body more consistently.

Eating in ways that support steadiness.

Reducing nervous system overload where possible.

Because increasingly I’m realizing that fungi does not create joy from nowhere.

It helps uncover access to joy that survival has buried.

And for some neurodivergent Black bodies, that access can feel life changing.

Functional Use

Illustrated branching mycelium network with glowing blue and violet pathways representing communication systems, neural pathways, interconnected thought, and fungi-assisted regulation.
this strain felt architectural. like pathways reconnecting instead of sparking against each other.

✔ connection and conversation

✔ ADHD support

✔ OCD regulation support

✔ creative flow

✔ emotional openness

✔ relational clarity

✔ joyful nervous system softening

✔ low reintegration cost

❌ not highly introspective

❌ not rupture-focused

❌ not heavily visual

Closing Reflection

Claymation fungi figure writing in an open book with mushrooms growing across the body and shoulders, rendered in glowing yellow and blue tones representing reflection, processing, and integrated healing knowledge.
some fungi does not pull you apart. some fungi hands you back your own thoughts slowly enough to finally hold them.

I think I’m learning that some of the deepest healing moments are not dramatic at all.

Sometimes they look like: laughing understanding someone clearly staying present long enough to enjoy softness and realizing the nervous system no longer has to fight every moment of connection.

This strain felt like that.

Not transcendence.

Just access.
