Embodiment as practice: The Art of Movement, Image, and Presence

With more than a decade of experience as a model, mover, performer, and creative collaborator, I have worked across more than 100 productions spanning photography, film, live performance, fashion, and visual media. This portfolio brings that work together as an embodied creative practice: understanding how a body relates to clothing, objects, environments, cameras, other bodies, and the story an image is trying to tell.

My approach to modeling has always been rooted in movement rather than simply posing. I study the material I am wearing, the architecture of the image, the direction of the camera, and the emotional language of a project, then use my body to help build the world of the image. That same intelligence travels through my work as a creative director, stylist, artist, and producer: I understand both what happens in front of the camera and what must be constructed around it for an image to work.

I was self-represented for more than ten years, developing relationships with photographers, designers, artists, and creative teams while managing the practical work of my own career. My experience with APL Models also fundamentally shaped how I understand ethics, access, power, and care within creative production, strengthening my commitment to working in environments where bodies are treated as collaborators rather than raw material.

My inclusion in FLOQQUI’s Black Creators Project sits within that larger history of image-making, movement, and representation. Across this archive, the body is not simply the subject of the image. It is one of the materials through which I think, communicate, collaborate, and create.
