This summer we’ve packed and unpacked the BespokeCurry Cosmos for four different pop-ups. Every table, every print, every piece of jewelry, every conversation, every bowl of popcorn, every field guide has been carried, arranged, rearranged, and tended by two autistic trans artists building a world one relationship at a time.

The BespokeCurry Cosmos: A Laboratory in Motion

BespokeCurry Events transforms the BespokeCurry Cosmos into a traveling community center. Whether through pop-ups, workshops, exhibitions, meals, conversations, classrooms, or gatherings, each event becomes a temporary field station where people are invited to make, observe, listen, eat, learn, and imagine together. Rather than centering transactions, BespokeCurry Events treats every gathering as an opportunity to build relationships, expand community, and leave behind new pathways for collective flourishing.

The Lab is where the BespokeCurry Cosmos and Blaxkcurry studies relationship. Every essay, field guide, gathering, object, meal, workshop, hairstyle, and conversation becomes part of an ongoing practice of observing how people, materials, stories, and communities shape one another. Rather than separating research from everyday life, The Lab understands curiosity itself as a communal practice and every gathering as an opportunity to imagine different ways of living together.

Something beautiful has happened this summer.

The vision has become clearer.

What began as a jewelry table has evolved into a traveling laboratory. Every object, field guide, bead, cowrie, print, recipe, and conversation contributes to an ecosystem designed to help people slow down, pay attention, and build relationships with one another.

What started as a jewelry table is becoming a traveling community center. A place where adornment sits beside conversation, where food sits beside print, where hair, objects, and community all belong to the same ecology.


The BespokeCurry Cosmos has always been a laboratory.


Not a laboratory that extracts or experiments on people, but one that asks what becomes possible when we build relationships differently.


What happens when jewelry becomes a doorway into conversation?


When popcorn becomes an invitation to rethink the foods we inherit?


When a print, a hairstyle, a shared meal, or a field guide all become ways of studying community together?


The traveling version of the Cosmos lets us bring that laboratory wherever people gather. Every pop-up becomes a temporary field station—a place to observe, listen, make, eat, adorn, and imagine together. Every conversation becomes part of the archive.


Every person who stops at the table changes the work, just as the work changes us.

The work is growing.


The support hasn’t grown at the same pace.


Part of that is simply the reality of building something that refuses easy categories. But part of it is also the accumulated weight of rebuilding after harm. Longtime readers know that this work didn’t emerge overnight. It survived sustained harassment, a cyberstalker, periods where I disappeared from public view to protect my safety, and the slow work of rebuilding trust in both myself and the communities I wanted to return to. What can look like “starting over” is often the visible edge of years spent recovering from what should never have happened in the first place.


That’s not an invitation to feel sorry for us.


It’s simply the truth of building something that doesn’t fit neatly into a category.


People often see a blue check or a following and assume the work is already being held. It isn’t.


We’re two autistic trans artists building this ecosystem piece by piece. Every object is designed, every display is built, every essay is written, every recipe is tested, every conversation is tended by us.


This weekend we’ll be at Garford Arts Fest.


We’ll also be introducing Baobab Sorghum Seed, Siir’s new popcorn project, another branch of the BespokeCurry ecosystem rooted in expanding our relationship with food and decolonizing the palate.
